I was chilling with acquaintances and I rolled a joint. I thought it was a good joint, not great but just meh. But then I got feedback from the Universe and it was outstanding, greatest ever, yah, fuck yal niggas, what you gonna do nigga? I got guns, I am Sosa on Steriods, hyper like Cocaine; DMT, Psilocybin Mushrooms, LSD, Ayahuasca, substances that construct your perceptions and senses. Priming you towards destiny. Open your mind, shine the light on the dark corners of the subconscious, expand your horizon like landscape. It’s clear I have become a legend. Little steps son, let’s keep moving forward, let’s evolve and be like them but in moderation. A mirror stuns. That’s how we will make it. Choose how you conduct yourself. Be encouraged and never lose faith, you’ll make it through alright, this is just an illusion, a program pragrammed into the deep recess of your subconscious mind that is programmed by the unconscious, in order words D10s, Argentinas number 10, the greatest of all time, dominating everything as usual, the contract is half a Bill, and is crippling Barca, they lucky I didn’t charge them more. La Liga in trouble too. No one man should have all that power. But I am not doing this for the money. I just made the right decisions, the pandemic was never supposed to disadvange rich people. I’m set for life. what you gon do, I’m the rarest species around – one, Winning Ballon D’Ors is easy but stay off my lawn, I will fuck you up real good, Tsek! The greatest of all time, you can’t tell me nothing son. Most goals, most assists, most free-kick goals, most golden boots, most player of the year awards, most ballon do’rs, most hoes, whatever dog, don’t waste my time, no one is at my level. It was a good joint, everybody loved it. Thank you Universe for that beautiful moment, I keep winning, small steps produce great results, advance like Super Mario on Nintendo, to the next level, incremental progress leads to your goals and dreams, make the right choices and sacrifice the right pawns, use the flanks, they exploit your opponents weaknesses and finesse with conviction. Take precautions where necessary, let’s have courtesy and be professional, let’s not waste each other’s time. “How much for your Soul Anna?”. Tell me what’s your price. This is another great post, brought to you by the Leo Messi of content.
I do what I want, when I want, on my own terms. If it don’t feel right, I don’t do it, that’s it.
I was never born to take orders, forget it. I roll my own dice and I always win, I never take chances.
Not affected by outside commentary. You think a Lion contends himself with the opinions of Zebras. Nah, they just prey and I’ve got too much pride.
Creativity off the charts. Charisma on steroids that I always fail a test. You can’t test me, I am the examiner who flips the script on you. Check the memo, I am the most consistent, most talented and most likely to be a Billionaire.
I am Ray Charles to all my haters, try stimulating my other senses, that’s if you can get close to me. I am so high on the agenda that you are not a topic. insignificant, a Roch I just step on, not worth my energy, I am the gatekeeper and your 15 minutes are up.
I am inevitable like Thanos, that’s it. I am impenetrable like a vest, that’s it. I repel bad energy like deodorant, that’s it. Nothing can stop me, that’s it. I am the greatest, that’s it.
I have added a couple of things to my list of accomplishments in 2022. This time it’s more holistic in terms of my artistic endeavors. Like I said, great quality content with great backing will get you to great places. That’s what I am always doing, so I need to add everything up and make this great product. A product that people everywhere consume, every day, every month, every year and decade after decade. Damn! I could taste the glory. Everything you touch falls to aches. Mr. Invincible. Valuable. In disposable. Leo Messi style, I am the whole institution. Game after game, I give them what they want. Assist or goal. What do you want? Free kicks? Don’t worry, I got that too. For years, I have scored more free kicks goals than everybody, I am one of the greatest setpiece takers of all time. 7 Ballon D’ors, more than anyone. 6 European Golden Boots more than anyone. The only football player to win the Laureus best sportsman award. The only player who has outscored Pele for one club. The man with the most goals in a calendar year, 91, the player with the most trophies and many other countless impossible records and achievements. Leo Messi, a great man.
The Universe said let’s put some money in your account, it’s a professy, I am at the beginning of forever. Let’s see what we can do. The most important thing is collaboration. Find common ground and move forward. First Principle thinking, breaking everything to its single unit, it’s fundamental underlying property, and seeing where you can make alterations or innovate. Think outside the box. Take your time. Create combinations. Be crazy, have fun, soar with grace like an eagle in the sky. She said, she’s tired of being in a relationship where she doesn’t benefit anything. Oh, oh! She’s not the only one. I am in a tight situation. I need Leo Messi content to save me. She’s right, of course she’s right. I’ve been starting businesses left, right and center. My latest endeavor is always the one that is supposed to start things for me, to launch me outta space like a spaceship. Instead it’s just like all the others. The exciting thing about potential is that it’s not fulfilled. The narrative from the outside world is that I’ve reached my peak and I am slowly declining off the top. That’s not even minutely true. I am honing my skills. I am getting better everyday. In fact, I’ve haven’t even started yet; I am a long way from the start. The idea of quick success is ingrained in people’s minds. The plan I have for us is for the long haul. I want you to be my Queen for a lifetime. I want you to be with me until my soul finds another host. So you can never bail out on me. I love you. I need your energy. We have done exceedingly well in the past years, let’s keep moving forward. I know it’s difficult but the alternative is that you settle and if that’s the case, I wish you well. My logic is undeniable, get super smart and super rich. Because if I build myself and learn skills, no one can ever take that away from me, from us. I understand the frustration, no dates and I’ve been so distant, ghosting you like you don’t exist. I am wrong, I am sorry. I can do better and I will, granted you let things unravel. I need to better manage my time. I have been too inefficient. Not deploying the right resources to the task. I screwed up. I need you, that’s why I came home, to you. I never wanted another girl to know something about me that you don’t know. I will never let you down, not in the long run, not when it matters most. You mean the world to me, everything I do, I do because of a grand vision I have for our lives. If you are patient for a while longer, the wait will be worth it. Please stay, but if you leave I understand. A girl who can’t say “no” is doomed in this world we live in. Nothing is ever guaranteed except death and time ticking like a bomb. Life is hard and difficult, do you have the enthusiasm to stay on the frequency of your dreams? Are you cheerful in the face of adversity? Do you care? Are you loved? Can you push through it all and stand on the podium, a place designated for winners. Is your mentality strong enough to warrant a mention? Do you have the stamina and work ethic to see it through? Are you the woman for me? Only time will tell.
Why don’t you just get a job? Lol hilarious, I am the guy who creates jobs. Besides, get a job in the Era of Artificial Intelligence? That’s awful advice. What are you like 60? Everything is being automated. The real question is, what are you automating? I am a God. People are quick to lose faith. This is the process, I am building a life. I am already winning. I am already the one, I am already the hero, the future is already secured. I am already at Leo Messi level, I already produce great moments game after game, I am already the most consistent, I am already wealthy, I already have the best charisma and I already have everything! The money is just lagging behind like an oscillator but the signal is to buy and put everything on antakalipa, he is a billion beggar; the Lionel Messi of content.
I don’t change because you had a bad day, a bad week, a bad month, a bad year or a bad life. No, that’s not how it works. I was brilliant in the past, I am brilliant in the present and I will continue being brilliant in the future. It’s a constant variable, I am the best, I never change. So thank you for your advice that I didn’t need, I hope it made you better. I hope it validated your existence and made you feel important. Although I have to admit it had no impact on me. Your thoughts and feelings about me are your business. They don’t define who I am. You lead a life of expediency and instant gratification, I don’t expect you to understand vision and the importance of living a meaningful life. In fact you are abstract, invisible, lack space and matter when it comes to my life and decisions. You are insignificant. It’s too late for your negative utterances and your attempts to bring me down. I know who I am. I know my worth. I am a leader. I am an exceptional man so don’t compare me to ordinary men. I vibrate on a higher frequency, I make miracles happen, I walk on water, I am incredible, I am the greatest. I slither with the snakes in the grass and fly with the eagles in the sky. There’s nothing I can’t do and no prey I can’t get to. I am Goku, Mr. Autonomous Ultra Instinct, I am the hero. I am impressive, a God, I hold my own destiny in my hands. I am the big ticket, the type that doesn’t need validation from anyone. So love me or leave me alone, I am not going abbid by your attempts to control and restrict my life. Who do you think you are, the Coronavirus? Even that didn’t apply to me. I kept pushing. I kept winning. I am a star how could I not shine? Thank you for your words that fell on deaf ears. They meant absolutely nothing to me. When I need help I will look at the mirror. I still follow my inner inclinations and destiny. I will never betray my heart. I have a tidal wave of good that is coming to me. Time will prove me right.
I have been a Quentin Tarantino fan all my life. From “Reservoir Dogs” all the way to “Once upon a time in Hollywood”. Admittedly, my first Quentin Tarantino film was “Kill Bill” in 2005. I remember the day like it were yesterday. It was on a Friday and it was playing on M-Net. The next Friday, M-Net would play “Kill Bill: Volume 2”. I watched both of them and my life was changed forever. It was film-making I had not seen before. The visuals blew me away, they were exceptionally great. They had a tendency to linger in your mind long after you had watched the movie. So clearly, I always remembered the “Pussy Wagon” and that epic yellow Bruce Lee jumpsuit that the bride was fighting in. That yellow jumpsuit is so iconic, it is memorable, it is imprinted and permanently engraved in the fabric of film – it is amazing creativity and vision from Quentin Tarantino. The fight on the snow between “Cotton-mouth” and “The Bride”; the atmosphere was so smooth and quiet – it was full of serenity and “Cotton-mouth” was in all-white complimenting the snow. The contrast in that fighting scene is amazing because it ends in blood and death. The anime scene on is something that hasn’t been done in film before. It is so epic! He incorporated Japanese taste and culture into the film. The film is surreal. It is a blend of different traditions and cultures infused into this one craft about revenge. The music, the Samari sword fights, the characters, the gore violence, the awesome dialogues, the authentic creativity and the underlying chaos that manifests itself when you least expect it – Quentin Tarantino knocked “Kill Bill” out the park. “Kill Bill” is cinematic excellence. It is an experience you will never forget. It is supremely entertaining!
What I love most about Quentin Tarantino movies is the professionalism. The characters are usually professionals that need to do a job and as such “morality” is exempted in the equation. Every action is justified. Quentin Tarantino doesn’t want you to morally judge his characters. There is no hero in a Quentin Tarantino movie instead he shows you different perspectives of different characters. To communicate this he uses nonlinear storylines and gives the characters in his movies more or less the same screen time. In this way there is neutrality for the professionals who serve as characters in his films. The story on “Reservoir Dogs” follows professional criminals who plan a heist, among them is a police officer who is undercover. The duality of the character of the professional criminal/police officer is the underlying chaos that gives the story its texture and the unpredictability and uncertainty of the plot – it is a texture that gives the story a feeling of “anything can happen”. We also see this type of double-agent play on “Jackie Brown” when a middle-aged flight attendant woman serves as a mole for his criminal boss and also as an informant for the police so that they can apprehend this criminal boss. Jackie Brown strategically plays both parties and in the end, walks away with a lot of money. The duality in the characters of Quentin Tarantino is a common feature in all his films. Again, we see Butch, a promising boxer on the highly acclaimed sophomore movie “Pulp Fiction” win a boxing match despite the fact that he was paid big money to lose. The match was rigged and Butch makes more money from bets. Something that makes his boss big Marcellus Wallace go on a manhunt to catch Butch and kill him. We also see this duality on “Inglorious Basterds”, Django Unchained” and “The Hateful Eight”. These characters are not what they say they are.
Further what makes a Quentin Tarantino movie unpredictable is it’s historical inaccuracies. Quentin Tarantino has a knack for changing historical events and telling his side instead. On “Inglorious Basterds”, the basterds kill Adolf Hitler in the premier of “Nation’s Pride” to end WWII. He over-stimulates the plot and adds his homemade spices. This he does for the sake of the viewer, to entertain and create an experience. He doesn’t mind letting the viewer know that we are watching a movie with characters in it. He is over the top and believes violence creates a better cinematic experience. So, in his movies more often you will see violence just for the sake of violence. Violence with no relevance or use to the plot of the story. A perfect example of this mindless yet entertaining violence can be seen on “Kill Bill” and “Django Unchained”. However, the thing that makes a Quentin Tarantino movie is the dialogue. The dialogues of his characters are unconventional in the sphere of film-making. They are often long, free-flowing and have nothing to do with the plot of the movie. They are entertaining, funny and reference a lot of popular culture as seen on “Pulp Fiction” when we are introduced to Jules and Vincent for the first time in that iconic “Royale with Cheese” dialogue. The opening scene of “Reservoir Dogs” when the professional criminals talk about “Like a virgin” and “Tipping” is the best thing you will ever experience on a movie. In his dialogues, Quentin Tarantino explores social conventions and ideologies – he is provocative, philosophical, engaging, thought-provoking and humorous. At heart, Quentin Tarantino is really a fan of films and movies. He approaches a film with the intent to dazzle and blow you away. He is a genius who can spin anything. This is seen on “Django Unchained” when the slave, flips the script around and becomes the hero who kills evil white men for money. Django also rescues his enslaved wife and literally blows-up the plantation. “Django Unchained” is a perspective we hadn’t seen when it comes to the subject of slavery. It was fresh, daring and exquisite. It was a different narrative, a perspective that was out of the box – it was a typical Quentin Tarantino movie. The characters were all professionals of their trades; a bounty hunter, a seasoned slaver and the house nigga. “Django Unchained” was grand and bold. It incorporated everything Tarantino, it had a Western theme, professionals, double agents, unpredictable and underlying chaos, gore violence, great dialogues and awesome soundtracks.
Quentin Tarantino draws his inspiration from other movies. He states that he copy’s from other movies. From camera angles and techniques to Western stand-offs. To movie sets in other movies to the costumes. His genius comes from the fact that he is obsessed with movies and the subject of film-making. Being obsessed, he incorporates what he loves from other movies to his to elevate them to greatness. All his films generate a cult-like following because of the fresh air they bring to the world. He always seems to resuscitate the film world with every release. The release of “Once upon a time in Hollywood” makes me sad because it’s almost time for him to close the curtains. His next movie will be his last. It’s hard saying goodbye to a legend, to a genius. The world is not ready, I am not ready. I wish we had more time. But it’s fine, at least I have all your movies. They have brought me so much happiness in the past and because they are classics, I have no doubt that they will carry on doing the same in the future. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything Quentin. Thank you for sharing yourself and your genius with the world. Thank you for giving us classics. Thank you for making me love movies. You started everything for me. I know creativity because I saw a Quentin Tarantino movie when I was 9.
Argentina winning Copa America is literally the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I don’t want to live in a world where Messi doesn’t have a domestic title. That world is not fair, it doesn’t make sense. Lionel Messi is the greatest soccer player there ever lived and he has done everything he can to win. When he contemplated about quitting the national team in 2016, I felt his pain. He led them to the finals only to fail at the final hurdle. It wasn’t even his fault, he can’t assist and finish the move himself, that’s not possible. The final product was often bitterly disappointing. Higuain didn’t do justice to Messi and Aguero is an after thought at national level. The only player who attempted to match Messi’s level was Angel Di Maria, his performances were always good but never enough for the illusive trophy. Losing 4 finals and 3 back-to-back is heartbreaking, especially if you’re Messi because he was named the MVP for 3 out of those 4 tournaments. The Argentina in the 2014 World Cup was a great Argentina, the golden generation; it had Romero, Zabaleta, Macherano, Otamendi, Demichelis, Di Maria, Aguero, Higuain and the great man himself. Managed by Alejandro Sabella whose tactics were spot-on. They were excellent throughout the tournament. There was nothing Argentina could have done in that final against Germany though, the better team won. However the two finals lost on penalties against Chile were brutal. In fact, in the final in 2016, Messi made a mess of his penalty and sent the ball to the heavens. Another almost. I was overwhelmed with sadness, he deserved more and time was up for most of the players in the golden generation. Thank God he didn’t give up, an ordinary man would have but we are talking about the world’s greatest soccer player here. He is a natural born winner. He has a strong mentality. He is God’s gift to the world and God doesn’t make mistakes – the failures were a part of the process to greatness. Now with a brand spanking new team of hungry, young Argentines who are eager to deliver titles for Messi and for all of Argentina, the future is so good. World Cup triumph is next.
Messi winning Copa America is so great for me personally because I project a lot of emotions on Messi. When he wins, I win. When he loses, I lose. This holds true for both FC Barcelona & Argentina. He has the unique ability of making or breaking my day. It’s personal. It is subconscious even unconscious. In my mind Lionel Messi shouldn’t lose games. I have been with Messi ever since he was 18 years old scoring his first ever hatrick against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. He has been the best player ever since. When that isn’t reflected on a national level, I feel a big injustice within the substructure of my being. I feel like God and the Universe are cheating me. I really can’t live in a world where Messi is number 2, because whose number 1 if not Messi? I have been with Lionel Messi throughout his whole career. I have been watching like Christof. He has brought me and billions around the world so much joy and happiness, it’s not even quantifiable. He is the most consistent player in the history of the game. He has won everything and he is impossible to stop. He deserves to be on top, it shouldn’t even be a debate. Don’t tell me about Pele, he won the World Cup when 8 teams participated, today we call that “The confederations cup”. Winning a tournament of 8 teams is not special. Messi is owed by the Universe and if Universal laws are scientific, precise, concrete and objective then he deserves to be World Champion, he deserves this based on causality.
Messi winning Copa America feels like a liberation. It’s so typical that I talk of myself but I referenced earlier in the text that I project a lot of myself onto Messi. I too have been working so hard on my entrepreneurial endovours and for my efforts usually I’ve gotten a silver medal. For so long I have been in sync with Messi. I know what it’s like to lose over and over again through no fault of your own. To lose having given it your absolute best. To build and prepare for a lose. To have people doubt your greatness. To endure the disrespect of fools. Messi winning Copa America feels like destiny, like nobody can stop me now. I feel stronger and strengthened. I am motivated and also lighter on my feet. My loses have made me better and my skin is thicker. I know what I want, I am focused and I am still getting better. Messi winning Copa America is God telling me to prepare myself. All I have ever wanted is already granted, the trials and tribulations were a part of my apprenticeship – just like Messi. He too suffered like you did but now good times are here. It’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Messi winning Copa America reminds me of the fact that I am still the best, the greatest.
As a side note, I would like to take the opportunity to profusely thank God and the Universe for this gift. Well done to Lionel Scaloni for the great job. I extend my congratulations to Angel Di Maria, Otamendi & Sergio Aguero who like Messi have suffered immensely with a flurry of second place finishes. Also Emi Martinez for winning goalkeeper of the tournament, I feel his the best goalkeeper Argentina have had for a while. Truth be told I wrote this before the final because it felt right this time. I have a lot of faith in this team. I am impressed by Lutaro Martinez and the squad of young Argentines surrounding Messi. It also helps to have the wizardry of Di Maria & the deadly finishing instincts of Aguero as supporting cast members. They play with a lot of spirit and they really want this. When I saw the penalty shoot-out against Colombia, I cried. Emi Martinez (The goalkeeper) did exceptionally well saving three penalties. Argentina scored all their penalties, led by Messi. After the shoot-out and Argentina won, everyone celebrated with the goalkeeper. It was the greatest moment in the tournament. Messi went up to the Emi Martinez and hugged him. That’s when I leaked like a pipe. Finally, the Universe is helping the world’s greatest player. After that semi-final match against Columbia, I knew Argentina would win Copa America. It didn’t require a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to figure out that every cosmic force was with Messi. Things are finally coming full circle.
I am the greatest of all time. The top of the mountain is mine until I decide I want to descend. You’ll get the glory when I am done. Everything you see here is mine, everything revolves around me. I am the pulse, I am the whole business. Acknowledge Me, I am not going anywhere! I am on God mode, no one is on my level. Everyone is an afterthought in my presence. I smash my competition so bad they become irrelevant in their future endeavors. I dare anyone to step-up and take these titles from me. No one can, it can’t be done. I have beaten them all, there is no one left. Acknowledge Me now, I am not going anywhere, I will remain on top for as long as I want.
We had three official games against Norkem High in our first season and we lost all three. The first game was a Friendly and it’s understandable because we were starting out and didn’t know the boys all that well. We had more than 50 boys who wanted to be in the team so it was difficult for me and Kay. To be fair though we had the game under control, we were better than Norkem in terms of game play and individual players, we just didn’t have a good goalkeeper. Our goalkeeper (Sakhe) drank us that day. On the touchline, Kay was telling me about some kid who was a goalkeeper who came to training the previous week who was a great goalkeeper. We both agreed that we needed to convince him to come back asap. But that was a plan for tomorrow, right now we were trailing Norkem. We managed to come back and made the game 4-4, but in the last moment of the game Sakhe conceded a stupid goal. Final score 5-4, but we consoled the boys and told them it’s a draw. It wasn’t Sakhes fault that we lost, in truth our defense was weak and Sakhe just carried the burden because he was the last man. Everybody liked Sakhe, he had enthusiasm and his energy was positive, he was always laughing and he loved soccer. He also attended every practice session, his will was just to get better and he did. In the end he became a very good goalkeeper. The Sir. Pierre game was the easiest game ever. We dominated the game and led the game 3-0. How the game finished 3-3, I don’t know. It still puzzles me. Literally Sir. Pierre attacked 3 times and they scored 3 times. They scored the most stupid goals ever. True we substituted a couple of players to give others game time and to inspect other players, but the changes were strategic. Sakhe is the reason we drew that game, he made two horrendous mistakes. I think he was just nervous, he fumbled and missed the ball. After the second error, Mr. Dzumba lost his mind and went over my head to substitute Sakhe. Anything and anyone was better than Sakhe! But his replacement Freedom, was worse than Sakhe. A couple of minutes later, Freedom made the biggest error of the game, his error was worse, the dumbest goal you will ever see in your life, everything was under control and the ball came to him, it wasn’t a shot, just a misplaced pass from the other team, all he had to do was just to control the ball with his legs, he missed it, no first touch whatsoever, the ball went beneath his elevated foot. Just like that the game finished 3-3. Me and Kay were devastated. Later that night FC Barcelona got eliminated out of the Champions League semi-finals by a bus parking Chelsea at the Nou Camp. Messi missed a penalty that could have taken us to the finals – it was a bad day. We finished 3rd that season.
The next year and the boys were now U15’s. By now we knew our team. This year we were stronger, we had a new goalkeeper and several new players who strengthened our defense and midfield. This was the year, I didn’t think we’d lose. We were strong. First game was against Germiston and the game was evenly contested. The game was tactical and physical. 2-2 the game finished, it was a fair result. Mr. Pitseng was the new U14 coach for the new Grade 8s and they lost 5-0 to Germiston. The morale of the boys was low and some boys stopped coming to training. We won our next game, while the U14s lost their second consecutive 5-0 game, this time at home. It was bad. The U14s had exactly 13 players in their whole team. They had no confidence, the morale was low and a couple of players in that 13 were considering quitting. I talked to Kay that it was better if we took over, he agreed. This was better for the school and the boys. Mr. Pitseng just didn’t have the time to coach these boys. I talked to Mr. Pitseng and he was relieved, he was happy to give me the team. He gave me all the boys papers and information. He gave me the keys to his classroom and offered his support if we ever needed it. Now me and Kay were coaching two teams. Me and Kay agreed that the U15’s were now in free flow. They had a routine, the players knew each other, the chemistry was great, we had instilled a work ethic and they were motivated. They were okay, they didn’t need much coaching. All they needed was supervision and I monitored that. The big challenge now was with the new U14 team. They had no confidence and from an initial 13 from the previous match day, there were now 8 boys. Me and Kay saw the challenge and we knew it would be a difficult task. We started rebuilding the team. We recruited back the players who had showed an interest on breaks. The numbers in training started improving. Kay recruited Sakhe from the U15 team, it was legal, Sakhes birthday was in December and he was now a better goalkeeper, he had experience. It was much needed for him too, the U15 team had a new goalkeeper and he (Sakhe) was destined to be on the bench. We called Sakhe to the U14 team because we liked him. From 8 players, we now had 24 players. The morale was good. Me and Kay handled the two teams exceptionally well. The first win for the U14s was so great, they were so happy, we were happy and Mr. Pitseng was also elated. The U15’s were now a winning machine. That season with the U15’s we finished the season undefeated. It wasn’t enough to win the league though, we finished second to Germiston High. They won a game more while we drew, it was a fair result but the writing was on the wall, this U15 side was destined to dominate the district and they did. Germiston, while they won the league were defeated by Norkem, we beat Norkem 3-1 at their own school. We outmatched them everywhere. The following two seasons we dominated the district in convincing fashion, finishing both seasons undefeated – the last loss was when they were U14s. Me and Kay did great. Our new U14 team was also coming on good, we won several games and drew 2-2 against Norkem, it was a good result considering we had administrative problems, some players couldn’t play. From a hopeless situation, we led the boys to a third place finish. Both our teams, U14 & U15’s did great and for our efforts me and Kay got medals, our silver trophy was shared with the whole school on morning assembly. It was a great year.
Kay was a perfect partner, absolutely perfect. Truthfully, no one was better Kay, he was a straight “A” student and had social and emotional intelligence. Kay sat on the first table on the first row with Senzile and other winners in Physics class. Trust me when I say “no one was better than Kay” – everybody knew that Kay was the best. I respected Kay. He was a winner, diligent, professional, motivated, knowledgeable, intelligent, focused, enthused and totally committed to the course – of course, the greatest soccer team that Rhodesfield Technical has ever seen was started by me & Kay; That’s obvious, that is something that was already written by the stars. Thank you Mr. Dzumba for giving me a chance, I am eternally grateful.
I have been winning so much, I am beginning to lose sense of reality. Everyday is a blur, making money comes as easy as breathing.
I remember when I used to have dreams of owning it all now it’s just memories relegated into the deep abyss of time. I am the embodiment of all my dreams. I did it, I am the man.
I remember my first poetry competition back in Primary school; Lyndhurst Primary school, Grade 3B, Mrs. Bosman. It was a Sesotho poem about three little birds. We went to this other school and there were other kids from other schools. Man, I was nervous but I had been practicing with Mrs. Bosman and she told us to do what we did at practice, don’t be scared, stand up straight, open your legs, be grounded and affirmed, count to 5, take a deep breath and relax, then perform and then after you can sit, when you’re done you’ll get your certificate. Mrs. Bosman trusted me, she had deep confidence in me. I loved her and her encouragements. I went on the stage and did the best that I could. 3 more learners from my school went and then we were handed our certificates. There were learners who got Diplomas at the time but it wasn’t a lot, it’s difficult to get a Diploma when you are 7 or 8. A Diploma certificate was prestigious. It had a red scroll, big Gold foil and the certificate itself was A2. Gold and Silver certificates were A3 & Bronze certificates were a miserable A4 size. Getting a Diploma certificate was like winning a trophy, in fact it was a trophy – the highest achievement one can attain. A Diploma was way better than a Gold certificate. It was better than a “A”. It was a score of 90% or more. On that day, one learner got a Diploma. He was so good, I won’t lie. Little cute kid with glasses, he was 7 years old, he recited a Afrikaans poem with deadly precision. When he was done the crowd were on their feet cheering and clapping. A lot of the really good poet’s got a Gold certificate, which is a 80% or more but not 90%. I got a 72% score, a silver, it was just like a Gold but the color of the foil was different. And it was the same length as the gold certificate. The Diploma was the biggest certificate of them all when it comes to dimensions and size. The other learners I came with all got Bronze certificates and they were smaller than mine in size. I was the best from my school, Mrs. Bosman was so proud of me. The judges also gave good advice, I heeded one particular comment from the judge I know was meant for me, he even memorized my poem, he said I was too fast, slow down. He also made a remark that motivated me, he said that if I can just work on my speed, I will win a Diploma. I took it to heart and a year later I won my Diploma. I got a 93% score – one of the best in the district and among the very best at school. There was no doubt, I was a future great. A year later and I was in the school choir, one of the youngest chosen, the school choir consisted mostly of Grade 6’s and 7’s. I was one of the few Grade 5 students chosen. With the school choir, we won everything and achieved everything. Winning Diplomas was the norm. Fame was high and I was on TV, a child actor, a superstar, sometimes I missed school to make Ads, I had my own money, bought anything and everything I wanted.
I had achieved everything at Lyndhurst, I needed to branch out. We were already living in Kempton Park. My mother asked if I wanted to finish Primary at Lyndhurst or try something new here in Kempton Park. I thought about it and told her something new, she smiled and started with the administration process, Edleen Primary would be my destination, it was exciting times.
It was poetry season at my new school and this time I wanted to perform the poetry I wrote. I worked hard to make that happen and it was approved. My performance was so good that I got a Double Gold score. A Double Gold was this district’s Diploma; I was now in a new district, Erkuruleni. I was now dominating Kempton Park. One day the school had this speech thing where speakers took center stage, it was round about time the Xenophobic attacks occurred in 2008 at Alexandra township. The school was standing against it and creating awareness. I wrote a speech and I was going to be one of the speakers. It was 2 speakers per class. It was sort of a contest because there were rounds and speakers were eliminated. I represented my class with some girl named Amelia. Me and Amelia beat everyone and then we were pitted against each other in the final round and she won. It was basically a win-win situation for our class. When we met at the final showdown, I had no illusions of winning. She had a superior speech. It was more poetic and emotive. It was the best speech I had ever heard and the delivery was excellent. Amelia had stage presence, her voice commanded attention and she a wonderful stage persona, it was energetic and full of attitude. She was animated but also regal, juxtaposition – you just had to be there. Oh yes, I knew she’d win and when she did, I wasn’t surprised or disappointed. Her speech was so powerful, it talked about uniting Africa. The content was amazing, it was mature and enlightened. It was impactful. Her energy and aura was magnificent. It was her moment, one curated by the stars. She deserved it. She was wonderful. I was happy for her and at least our class won; besides, I beat everyone else and she wasn’t my competition – second place was not bad considering we were in the same team. Amelia’s speech was so great that the whole class united behind it and dramatized it at the year-end school concert. Our class had the best performance that year, it wasn’t even a debate. We were authentic and different. Other classes did the usual which was Dance or staging a play; the problem with that approach is that not everyone gets to participate. With our class everyone participated, we had a threatre production; it was Mr. Van Zyl’s vision. There was music and drums, costumes and Amelias speech. We dramatized her speech beautifully, some students served as Trees, the wind and the leafs. My friends were the happiest trees ever, I was the wind and I made noises and moved around. The energy was so great, so positive, everyone felt important and did their absolute best with the role they had. Amelia was our Goddess and she performed her speech beautifully – this time she had background music and drums serving as aids, she wore a costume, the performance was grand. The whole production was perfect. A big congratulations to Mr. Van Zyl, it was such a great idea, it was inspired and creative – the end result was phenomenal, no one had ever seen something like that before. There was no doubt, our class was the best, we beat every class, again – our performance was the best in the school.
