A lot in nature is matriarchal. You look at Egyptian mythology, particularly the battle of Horus and Seth. The story is a lot like “The Lion King” in a lot of ways. Osiris is the king of all Gods, he represents the father and order. Like Mufasa on the Lion King, he has an evil brother named Seth who wishes to dethrone him. Nietzsche’s philosophy was grounded in psychology and human nature, he was a master of human nature. He was a big fan of Arthur Schopenhauer but didn’t agree with the tone of his work because it centered around persimism and nihilism, the idea of why bother since life is meaningless. Nietzsche’s work is an answer to Schopenhauer’s work, it is positive, practical and leads to a life of self-actualization. He was a genius, a man ahead of his time. He correctly predicted the 21st century, this is incredible for a man who was born in the 19th century. I see his observations playing out in life. He saw that the human spirit/soul would be under threat. He saw the decline of Christianity and the rise of nihilism. He saw the reliance of pills, the Soma that Huxley referred to on Brave New World. He saw the depression and society anxiety sweeping the West. He saw the loss of morals, ethics and meaning. He saw that man would be passive and moved by novelty after novelty. We see it today, man would rather sit on the couch, eat potato chips, consume pornography, order fast food that will be delivered to him at his convenience, be entertained by Netflix and repeat next day. Man doesn’t work on himself anymore, he is comfortable and doesn’t feel the need to act on his dreams.

Man is controlled by pleasure, by the dopamine inducing likes on social media, views, sex and everything you can get by pushing a button. There is no process anymore, everything is expedient or prepared in the microwave. Still, Nietzsche has solutions for the modern man. He preaches a life of self-realization and being the best that you can be. He preaches gratitude for life, he preaches life-affirming prescriptions. I understand why the Nazi’s adopted his work and made it theirs. Nietzsche’s work was powerful and centered on the individual being the best. Hitler wanted Germany to be the best in the world. However, Nietzsche’s work didn’t agree with Nazi ideology and we shouldn’t affiliate the two together. Nietzsche’s sisters are the guilty party in this dynamic but that’s a topic for another day.

Nietzsche’s works were inspiring for the individual, statements like “Amo Fati” direct translation, the love of fate – Love everything about your life and be grateful for the gift of life. Don’t wish you were somebody else, be content with your life. Be present and don’t worry about things you cannot control, leave that to God and the Universe. He also preached being the “Ubermench” which translates to Superman or Overman – work on yourself constantly and strive to be better everyday. Progress, show up, make the best of every moment and be the best that you can be. Be better than a consumer, create and build things and never let novelty sway you. His most famous quote, “God is dead” which can be interpreted as be accountable for your own life, be responsible, no excuses, do what you can, no one is coming out to save you.

Role of the arts

I have a picture of Van Goahs artwork as my wallpaper. It is a picture of a skull on the table. I have it as a wallpaper to remind me of my imminent death. It gives me solace and helps me put things into proper perspectives. It reminds me to not be passive, it reminds me that my time is limited and that I must do everything I can to be the man I want to become. It keeps me grounded and reminds me to not take life for granted, to be grateful for everything that I have and get better where I can. It helps me treat people well, to be compassionate and understanding because we all share this common ground. We are all born into a world we don’t understand and we don’t know the rules, we all doing our best with what we were given. No one knows anything real about this world, the Billionaires don’t know, the scientists don’t know, the philosophers don’t know, everyone is just speculating and it’s scary.

Looking at this picture everyday gives me hope because I know I can be anything I set my mind to. There’s hope, provided I work to develop myself constantly. That’s the role of the arts, to inspire, to motivate and to give you solace and peace. Art can capture the moment in a way reality can’t because it’s always fleeting, reality is an illusion, it vanishes right before your eyes can catch it, while art is permanent, forever. Art has memories, it has sadness, happiness, laughter, excitement, horror, wonder and hope. Art is how we make sense of the world, art is everything – literally. We need music, paintings, poetry and drama as a means to imitate life so we can make sense of it. Art represents expression and creation. Art teaches how to see, it is culture, perception and reality.

I want to talk about this one Universal law that governs all the laws namely; the law of cause and effect, the law of gender, the law of polarity, the law of correspondence, the law of mental, the law of vibration and the law of rhythm. It is called the generative principle and it says what we care enough about to put our will behind is ultimately what gets created in our world. The generative principle is everyday habits and how we navigate reality. It is about what we focus on.

This scoring of penalties at practice makes him a serial scorers of goals and this is what is reflected onto the world. Lionel Messi has more than 10 000 hours under his belt and has attained mastery at football. Ultimately the world is made up of information and as you engage with your field of study, more information gets released for you to take in. When you care about something, you do it with all of your heart and might. You want to get better at it, you are diligent and you feel fulfillment – that reflects on the world and you create something great. You can’t do great work if you don’t care. That’s the problem with people, they don’t care about their jobs and what they do daily and it reflects in their lives, they live miserable lives, they are angry and unfulfilled.

You can achieve anything in the world, you just have to start and care enough. As you progress more information will be revealed to you, there can be no other way, it’s science, you are energy and you are always vibrating. Care is everything, it is how you create your reality. What is a human being? My best response would be biological mechanisms that navigate reality via vibration. At a fundamental level, we are awareness experiencing reality via our senses. We still don’t know what consciousness is or where it’s located. However, we are not our thoughts but they do define our map of experience and constitute reality. Thoughts come and go and are detected and modulated by the mind. The mind is like a receiving station for all your thoughts. We construct reality based on the thoughts we accept consciously or subconsciously, so whether you think you can or you can’t – you’re right! Thoughts are everything, that’s why things like vision boards work because they program the subconscious. When you say the right things about yourself to yourself, it gets reinforced by the Universe and you will progress in whatever field. Conversely, when you say bad things, you will be miserable, residing in Hell. Everything is information and vibration. Reality is made up of your most dominant thoughts and actions. Programming your mind with positive affirmations like “I can, I must, I will”, “I am successful”, “I am abundant” changes your vibration and attracts everything to you. If you control your thoughts, you are God, for you control your destiny.

For me mindset and attitude are synonymous, it’s difficult to tear them apart. But I tried thinking of mindset in terms of neuroscience and what I came up with is that mindset is synapses, neural pathways that fire together, it is Grey and white matter. It is the river streaming down a pathway where there is less resistance. It is the rain that floods a location, it is continuous and constant. A mindset is like breathing, a force that is unconscious and yet dictates your life. A mindset is the operating system that constructs what is in your map of experience. A mindset is your past, it is the repressed things in your psyche, it is your shadow, it is your present, it is your future. A mindset is set in stone like a statue. You can break it down and errect another statue but you need to create new habits that lead to a new life. A mindset is your subconscious desires. A mindset is your aspirations and dreams. A mindset is never giving up, it is determination and motivation. A mindset is life because all is mind.
