Dangers of social media

Dangers of social media.

The advent of social media has made life better in a lot of ways. We now have telepathic powers that stretch to different continents, we can share our lives with our loved ones via video and photos, we can connect and work remotely from anywhere in the world, we have powers our ancestors could only dream about, we have become God’s. But nothing exists without its negative, social media is also the reason depression in the west and everywhere else in the world is so rife. The incessant comparing of our lives has crippled our souls resulting in a lack of knowledge of ourselves. Social media has created a generation of simps, weak men whose purpose in the world is please women. To cater to their every whim and neglect themselves in the process. These men have no inner campus and get validation from the attention they receive from these women. Sites like OnlyFans perpetuate this simp culture as men are lured in with the promise of viewing explicit content for a premium. OnlyFans destroys men, it keeps them docile and primitive, leaving them with no ambition, strife and prospects. OnlyFans castrates men and turns them into shadows of themselves. We must be better brothers. We must strive to be men of high value. A man of high value chases his purpose and not women, instead women chase him. Understand: women always have more options in the dating market because generally they are the prey that’s pursued, social media has only amplified this fact as now a thousand brothers are chasing the same prey. Avoid sliding in the DM my brother. A man of high value flips the script and makes himself valuable so that women can flock to him. Never chase women, it’s a waste of your precious time – chase your purpose. In this post we will be discussing dirty tactics used by social media to keep men trapped.

  1. Simping – social media has given men the illusion that women are more valuable because of the likes they receive. We have learned to equate likes to value and character of a person. This is so misleading and has led to a generation of emasculated weak young men who seek validation from women. They are women pleasers and do anything and everything to get their attention. They give their souls, they give their hard earned money, they give their self-respect, they are manipulated, they are laughed at, they are used like second hand vehicles. No one respects these men because they lack and inner campus, they have no center of gravity to keep them grounded. If a woman can’t respect you, she can’t love you. My brother, never seek validation from women. Keep your own frame, be your own man. Abandon the inbox and work on yourself. Understand: You are like Gold and you are in limited supply, know your worth and let them fight to caveat you. Don’t be a simp!
  2. Glamorizes Drugs and Alcohol – social media makes anything cool, when we see that something is desired by the masses, it’s value goes up leading to a domino effect. The herd behavior of social media artificially inflates the perceived value of substances leading to overconsumption and abuse. Drugs and alcohol can hinder your progress towards becoming a man of high value. This is because drugs and alcohol have side effects that can affect your health, leading to a life of misery, addiction and potentially death. Unregulated and unchecked use of alcohol and drugs can trap you in a world of hell. Take care of yourself my brother and monitor the influences in your life. You are the influencer of your life, do not get swayed away by public opinion.
  3. Addiction – social media is designed to be addictive, from the algorithms that show you content that will get you to react, to the dopamine inducing likes on your Facebook and Instagram. The purpose of social media is to get you hooked and addicted so they can show you more ads. Hence the continuous scroll function ensuring you stay on the site and lose sense of time, the interface that is designed like a slot machine. Social media is meant to consume as much of your time as possible. This is a trap as it can hinder you from achieving self-actualization. You need to be able to control and manage your time my brother. Plan out your day and allot activities to your schedule that will enhance the state of your being. Make time for reading as it will nourish your mind and keep you in peak performance. Make time for exercise as true wealth is health and keep a healthy social life. Your friends and family are paramount to living a good and fulfilled life.
  4. Reputation – so much of your life depends on reputation and it only takes a well co-ordinated smear campaign to ruin it. Because social media is a network of people, it only takes one share to ruin your life. It doesn’t even have to be true as all truths are half truths. One slander can be known from the depths of every corner in a second. One slander can define you and trap you in hell. Understand: not everyone is your friend despite what Facebook says, some people want to take you down, be mindful when you are flirting with the devil. In a world of fake news and click baits, everything is the truth.
  5. Fraud and scams – opportunities are located everywhere in the stratosphere of social media which makes it a breeding ground for fraud and scams. If you are naive and gullible, you will be taken for everything you have. Social media is an ocean filled with scams, false personas and fraudulent activities, from Crypto currently experts to Nigerian prince’s who urgency need you to deposit money in their accounts, to expert catfishers like the Tinder Swinder. You are operating on the dark side of human nature when you are on social media. Be careful my brother, thoroughly research every opportunity that comes your way. Do not part with money you don’t have and if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Beware of false prophets and saviors, the brutal truth about life is that you are alone, no one really cares about you and no one is coming out to save you. This should be your default, empower yourself and create the reality that you want to see.

Xhosa Queen

My Xhosa Queen.

I am convinced that there is nothing better than a Xhosa woman. They rank at the pinnacle when it comes to the women of the world. Of course, this is only my experience, my map of reality. Xhosa women have that something extra, that something special. Apologies that I don’t have the vocabulary to describe them but how do you describe someone like Arjen Robben operating on the right flank? I know I am drifting towards soccer but please bear with me, I am making a point. Do you have the superlatives to describe the brilliance of Arjen Robben? Someone who dominated football with his trademark finish. You know it’s coming, you know his going to cut in from the right and curl the ball with his left foot. You have seen it a million times, you have analyzed it with attention and great detail, you know it’s coming and yet there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. How do you describe that phenomenon? What do you say? I think Xhosa women are like that. You can’t describe them. All you can say is “that’s something special”. I have been in love with Xhosa women all my life. They are my cheat code. They make me weak on my knees. Plus they have a Miss Universe, how do you beat that? It’s impossible! Zozi Tunzi is a standard, a real thing of beauty, she’s something special. I have at least 2 Xhosa women in my top 5. I remember I used to have a crush on Zolani from “Freshly Ground”, remember those guys, remember Zolani? Ah, she was something special! Congratulations to the whole group for making authentic beautiful music music, I am still a fan. Imagine Eastern Cape, a place where they are made. Isn’t that place heaven? I think the Xhosa tribe have a good energy. As a people they are progressive and they have vision. They are an intelligent people. I mean how do you beat Nelson Mandela and Trevor Noah? That’s huge! Xhosa people are our best. This comes from a subjective reality and analysis. This is bias commentary, this comes from my love for Xhosa women. Xhosa women are rooted in my past. My first kiss was with a Xhosa girl. I fell in love for the first time with a Xhosa girl. I imagine my future life with a Xhosa woman. I want to be Proust and recapture lost time. I want to be self-indulgent and reminisce about the past. Also, I am done reading “In search of lost time”. I did it with a year to spare. Thank you for the lessons Proust, you taught me so much about life. I can’t believe how I enjoyed reading your book but I digress. This is my conversation with the Universe. I also hope to attract a good quality Xhosa woman, so to the Universe do your thing man.

I love the Facebook tradeoff, sure it’s exploitative but it gives you a choice. Choices are good because we are all in charge of our lives. Like I stated in the past Facebook has a wonderful business model, I envy Zuckerberg and the team that started it all. I like the tradeoff like “give us all your data, we want to know what makes you tick, we want to know your location, we want to know your favorite food, your favorite movies, books hobbies, we want to know what makes you laugh, what outrages you, we want all your memories and pictures, we want to know your virtual communities, we want to know your dreams and hopes, we want to know EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU and in exchange for all your data, we will show you pictures of your crush. Fair trade don’t you think? What would I do without Facebook? These guys are life-savers! I recently saw a picture of my crush and I lost my mind! Damn! She’s still the hottest thing under the sun. My Xhosa Queen, the woman of my dreams. So it seems like I am still a customer Facebook, you can have all my data! “Fell in love through photographs, I don’t even know your name, wonder if you follow back, I hope to see you one day, I won’t show my nigga now, I’ll keep this one for myself, love today has gone digital and it’s messing with my health.” Oh Cole my nigger! But maybe that song is misleading, I didn’t fall in love with my Xhosa Queen through photographs. I was mesmerized by her beauty every day. And she used to send me pictures, pictures that made my mind moonwalk. I can’t put into words how her energy made me feel. She was truly something special. I was in love with her, she was awesome and had everything in the world that I wanted. She was perfect. What a compliment the concept of love is. When you are in love with someone, you are observant and focused on that person and in time you get to know everything about that particular person. You get to know the walk, how she stands, how she sits, her body posture, the back of her head, her voice and her laugh. All this becomes second nature to you. You are intrigued by her and want to know everything about her. You can’t wait to see her and when you don’t the day is automatically wasted. I felt a void in me when I didn’t see her. It was a physical void that could not be filled. My energy was down and my spirits could not be lifted. For the day, I would be like a phone on flight mode, utterly useless. Like the Goddess she was, she had the power to make my day. She constructed my ideal of reality. Her presence and energy nourished my soul. Seeing her motivated me, because if a woman can’t motivate you, what can? Maybe I should start from the beginning. This is the story of the first Xhosa girl in my top 5.

She was one of the girls I have ever fallen in love with. I had known her since our teenage years. I waited after High School to ask her out. I expressed my undying for her. To help me with my course, I had chocolate, I had learned how to design logos and I designed one in a form of her name, it was so dope and I wrote her poetry. I fitted all the content (the logo and poetry) on one A4 paper and I laminated the paper, in my mind to make it last forever. Damn! The whole lamination process was expensive! It cost my R20! But it was fine, I had a vision and I needed to do everything in my power to get this girl. She was too important to me. The chocolate cost me R15 and transportation costs would be around R40 roundtrip. This was good. I was motivated. We met up and we had a good time. We had a good conversation and I went on the offensive. She listened to my story and gave me an audience. We hugged and we parted ways. I remember feeling good about myself. The metamorphosis was complete, I transformed into a butterfly that day. Finally, I did it! I was relieved. I was proud, now I can die in peace. It was a very good day. However, I was too overzealous and persistent. We were not on the same wavelength. Poor girl, I was relentless, it was embarrassing. I was unfair and selfish. I was too expedient. I wanted her right now! But she handled everything like an expert, a pro, she is so good, she is too intelligent. I am talking about Emotional Intelligence and the ability to regulate other people’s emotion. To control the situation and steer it in the direction that was best for the both of us. Wow, I was impressed, she was awe-inspiring. What a woman! I understood that time was my best shot. I needed to be patient. I needed to respect her. I needed to be more sensible. I needed to be her friend. I needed to be a human being. And so I started playing the long game, it was my only chance, I couldn’t risk pushing her away, she is important, her spirit motivates me somehow, I can’t explain it, she’s just something special. I was willing to do anything, she was worth it. I believed I worked harder than anyone, I believed I was more patient than anyone, I believed with time I would have a chance. And I did, it took a couple of years but the game plan was a success. She started giving me her time and we would meet and have awesome, awesome conversations. She told me about her life, her family, her hopes and dreams and I was in heaven. To the Universe thank you for giving me time with her, I am appreciative and grateful. She was worth the time, the years, the effort, she was worth everything, My Xhosa Queen.

The Richest

The richest

Who’s the richest man in the world? For years Forbes has stated that it is Jeff Bezos but I have never been sure. Sure, Amazon is a great company and it runs a monopoly. A great monopoly that sells virtually everything and knows you better than you know yourself. The acquisition of companies like Alexa and Twitch makes it a force to be reckoned with, but I still think its stock is too inflated. Don’t get me wrong I think Jeff Bezos is an absolute genius who specializes in internet companies and a visionary who can forecast into the future. He has smart investments in his portfolio, futuristic investments like the purchase of Twitch. He bought Twitch for $970 Million, he knows e-sports is the thing of the future. We have more examples of Bezos futuristic thinking, he was one of the founding investors of Google investing $1 million in 1998. He was one of the first people to see the potential and now Google is the pulse that runs the world. In addition to Google, he invested $15 million into Twitter in 2008 and today they are evaluated at over $22 Billion. He also invested $3 Million into Uber and now its stock is worth $300 Million – a 13233% return on investment, not bad for a day’s work. The acquisitions of organic food company Whole Foods Market and the space company Blue Origins is just brilliant. People are becoming more health conscious and are watching what they eat, the purchase of Whole Foods Market Is in line with that reality. There’s also the small fact that we want to inhabit Mars in a couple of years making us a multi-planet species. The acquisition of Blue Origins to rival SpaceX just makes sense and provides a great opportunity to make a lot of money. Regardless the question has to be asked. Are his assets liquid? Or are they just paper assets? Jeff Bezos recently had a divorce and had to part with 25% of his Amazon shares. He initially had 16% and gave his ex-wife 4% which amounts to $38 Billion. Isn’t that a bit steep? Don’t you think Amazon shares are over evaluated? Don’t you think they are inflated? Granted, I may be underestimating Amazon but I don’t think I am. I don’t doubt Bezos business acumen, I think he is the JD Rockefeller of modern times. He runs Amazon like Standard Oil, he buys the competition or he butchers them. No one even comes close, he is ruthless. He is one of the best businessmen in the world. Still, his investment portfolio is over 60% of Amazon and if indeed Amazon’s stock is inflated that would make him the richest person in the world – but only on paper. Something behind the door is being done to inflate those shares, maybe his issuing out shares like how banks just create new money. I seriously doubt that he could give away billions to charity like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. And if he can’t is he still the world’s wealthiest man?

Half of Bill Gates portfolio is Berkshire Hathaway. Interestingly he doesn’t own a lot of Microsoft shares. In the year 2000, during the big tech crash he sold out most of his Microsoft stock to diversify his portfolio to protect his net worth. I think that’s so intelligent. Throughout the years Warren Buffet had been a rival in the list of the richest people in the world. Buying Berkshire Hathaway shares worth billions is a great way to nullify the threat and the best way to diversify your portfolio. And because Warren Buffet is considered to be the greatest money maker in the world, success is virtually guaranteed. It was a chess move for Bill Gates and it speaks volumes of the respect he has for Warren Buffet. You see by owning so much of Berkshire Hathaway, Bill Gates is an owner of everything Warren Buffet owns. Berkshire is a holding company that owns shares and stocks in a lot of great companies like Coca-Cola and Apple. Berkshire’s stock are not inflated and its assets are liquid. That’s the major difference between a Jeff Bezos and a Bill Gates or Warren Buffet. Berkshire owns companies that pay out dividends and they own these stocks/shares for the long haul. The returns from these companies in a form of profit or dividends can pay for themselves essentially making billions for Berkshire for nothing. Bill Gates owns a lot of stocks that pay dividends on his portfolio, companies like; Waste Management, Canadian National Railway, FedX, Caterpillar, Walmart and a lot others. Bill Gates loves Dividend stocks because they earn him money virtually every day and they pay for themselves, freeing up capital to use for other projects or securing more assets. This is the reason Bill Gates and Warren Buffet can give away billions to charity and still have billions. They are indispensable. The billions they make are not tied to their net worth, it is simply free capital that they can afford to give away. Since 2000, Warren Buffet has given away over $46 Billion to charity making him the world’s most charitable billionaire in the world. While Bill Gates has given away $18 Billion to charity since 2000. I seriously doubt Jeff Bezos has the capability of doing that not because of moral obligations but because it would cripple his net worth. With time, I think he will be able to do that.

The richest man in the world is Bill Gates for the diverse stock he has in his portfolio. Through Berkshire he owns some of the greatest and best companies in the world including Coca- Cola, Apple and Amazon. On his own he owns Stocks that are unmatched by competition standards and yield consistent figures. For example, pundits predict another market crash and maybe it will happen but Bill Gates won’t be affected all that much because of the choice of stocks he has chosen in his portfolio. Even when the stock market crashes, people still need to dispose of garbage – Bill has a Waste Management company. Even when the stock market crashes, people still need to eat – Bill owns Walmart. Even when the stock market crashes, people still need to travel – Bill owns a railway company. Even when the stock market crashes, people still get thirsty and Bill owns a company that packages soft drinks like Coca-Cola. The companies in Bill Gates portfolio have a big competitive advantage. Most of them pay dividends and they are relatively defensive, prone to external forces like the stock market crash. Honestly, I think his the most intelligent businessman ever. The greatest money maker in the world is Warren Buffet – for it is he who makes half of Bill Gates money. Warren Buffet is a freak of nature, someone who understands the business world in its entirety, he is immersed in it, it is first nature to him. He is a practical man who understands human nature and lives in the real world. Warren Buffet is a visionary who invests over the long haul. He dissects companies to the bone before making a decision. He is supremely intelligent, an informed man. A man who makes money for a living. My observations are that Bill Gates is the richest man in the world and that Jeff Bezos is not far out. Jeff Bezos will be the undisputed richest man in the world, his investments and portfolio predicts and suggests that. If the Amazon stock is not overvalued and inflated then he is already that and will never be toppled. On the contrary, maybe Mark Zuckerberg has a chance. Since 2005, he has dominated the internet and how people perceive reality. He is young and has made impressive acquisitions. He will be the one to challenge Jeff Bezos and I think he will win.

Speaking of overvalued and inflated, I think one has to address the elephant in the room, Tesla. During the Covid-19 pandemic it elevated Elon Musk to the helm of the richest people in the world. Elon came from out of nowhere to beat everyone in the top 10. It looks like sustainable energy is finally bearing fruit, Tesla has been doing exceptionally well and are the benchmark for electric vehicles that are a sure thing for the future. Let’s not forget that Elon recently purchased Twitter in its entirety and turned it into a private company. Never mind everything said in this post about the other billionaires; Mark is cute, Bill who and Jeff is a has been – Elon certainly looks to be the man. His wealth is still accumulating in the 200 billions and it is widely forecasted that he will be the world’s first Trillionaire!

To be liked or respected?

To be liked or respected?

To be liked in the Era of social media is everything! It is social currency, it opens up doors and you can make a lot of money out of it in the form of being an influencer. It is so big and important that people do whatever to be liked. They post naked pictures, they add fuel to negativity and they spread misinformation – ANYTHING for those likes because they validate you in the digital sphere. People change themselves to be liked, they add filters to their pictures, they do stupid and foolish things for lack of better words. They do anything for attention and to be famous. Being famous means the adoration of your peers, it equates to monetary compensation, sponsorships, exclusive invitations and the opportunity to influence. Social status and likes have become more valuable than Gold.

Being respected on the other hand doesn’t bring much prestige and acclaim. It is boring, arduous and slow. To get respect you have to earn it, often through your actions. It is a mutual understanding based on the values both parties cherish. To be respected is hard work and requires you to consistently push yourself, to deliver. But even that is not enough because you can lose someone’s respect in a second after years of labor. To be respected is to be a figurehead that everybody wishes to emulate. It is standards, disciplines and values. To be respected is to be a role model. It’s difficult to be a role model because everyone projects onto you and you can’t let anybody down. You have to be exemplary. To be liked will get you expedient results that flicker like dying neon lights, while being respected will serve you for life without much acclaim.

Would you rather be liked or respected?

Tribes

Tribes (Communities)

To create something of significance and value, you need a tribe or community of people pulling in one direction. They don’t have to share blood, heritage or anything binding biologically, they just have to be like-minded. I like the example of Henry Ford. What he did with the automobile industry was amazing. In that time, cars were available but they were expensive and reserved for the wealthy and affluent. Henry Ford had a dream of making the automobile affordable for the average American. He came to the realization that he would need economics of scale to mass produce and save costs. The revolutionary thinking never stopped there. Essentially he started Capitalism by getting investors involved and creating the assembly line. The Ford company started mass producing cars but he also realized sales would be slow if there wasn’t a system in place. He created the modern 9-5 work week. This way employees would produce the vehicles mid-week and purchase them on the weekend. It was a success.

Ford grew and made money for his investors. I think that’s a beautiful example of Capitalism, that’s where everything started. I think the socialist economy is cool too. Countries like Sweden are beautifully run. There’s a lot of peace of mind considering everyone has access to the best schools, hospitals and other facilities. Systems like that guarantee peace of mind. Of course it can go bad like it did in the 20th century but I see a lot of positives. It’s a fair and just system. The only problem I see is parting with 50-60% of my income tax.

I also like what Mark Zuckerberg did with Facebook. I love the culture he instilled in the company. I love how clear their vision is “make the world more open”. Essentially to connect everyone in the world. To help him in his cause, he got the best people by his side. Today Facebook has over 2 billion active users. That’s powerful, it all started with a tribe, a community of students.
